TripAdvisor reviews about Adina Apartment Hotel Budapest

The hotel is nice, but quite far from the centre - its a 4-5 stop ride in on the underground. The rooms were really hot - we found it necessary to open the windows at night, as the room didn't have individual temperature control. Staff friendly, but not very helpful, when we requested suggestions for a good restaurant, they came up with only one, which we had tried and hadn't managed to get into. He didn't have any more suggestions!

"When we arrived at noon they were very strict about us not checking in before 2pm, so we had to take a walk. They did store our luggage for us though. Came back at 2pm and got our first floor room (no. 2). The clerk at the reception told us that our luggage was sent to our room and that we hopefully was told by Expedia that the spa/pool was under renovation and therefore it wasn't available. We had not been told anything by Expedia, especially because we booked via Hotels.com (and I kind of think that's a job for the hotel anyway). There was a small "kitchen" and a refrigerator, in what looked like a closet, 2 lounge chairs, 2 dining chairs, a large (good bed) and a nice bathroom with a bathtub. It is no way near 5 stars in my book, but it was reasonable considering the price of about $100 per night. When we checked in, we were also told that because of a major renovation there could be some noise during the day and they apologized for that. We didn't hear anything - except in the bathroom, and you can also hear the toilets in the other rooms when they flush but that's pretty normal- My girlfriend quickly concluded that the TV didn't work, but all I had to do was to turn the batteries and then all 30 or so channels worked on the 21" TV and they had the HBO channel, which is very good in Eastern Europe (a lot of new blockbusters are being shown unlike in Scandinavia, where is just classics). There is a small radio/CD player in the room as well as a clock radio. There wasn't a lot of noise from the small road just outside the window, so that shouldn't be a problem. There's no wireless network in the hotel room, something I would expect to find in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was fair, not very comprehensive. Conclusion. A fair hotel, but not worth the 5 stars that's for sure. Fairly priced and good for those who likes to be able to cook a bit themselves while staying at a hotel."

"We stayed at the Adina for a weekend. I booked a double room at a special rate. When we got there, there were no rooms available so we got a free upgrade to a suit and it was fantastic! It was huge, and I mean huge compared to every other place I've stayed in! It was in excellent condition and had all the appliances (great kitchen!). We loved it! Above that we had a very good breakfast, free coffee at the lobby and usage of a really well equipped gym, a big pool, hot tub and sauna. The maid was outstanding. Cleaned every detail and even did the dishes! All the other staff were extremely polite and helpful, An unforgettable experience!"

"We arrived in the evening to find the hotel quiet. Reception were friendly and efficient and we checked in with no problems and were given a voucher for a free drink from the bar. I was very pleased when we got to the room, a huge spacious, light, modern well decorated room with a high standard of finish. Two good size beds as it was a twin, a huge sofa, very good size bathroom with a decent shower. Full air con, windows that open, everything you could expect. Reception was smart, not huge, but immaculate and very clean, in fact every part of this hotel was immaculate and spotless. The bar was almost empty during our visit, the first night the bar person was quite friendly, the second night we popped in briefly and found the next person a little grumpy. Breakfast was continental and inclusive, a reasonable selection of pastries, bread, cheese and meats, lots of fruit etc. All self service from a buffet, I would give that 7/10. There is a lovely courtyard in the centre of the building, and the swimming pool and sauna etc are very nice. Again, not stunning but well decorated, immaculate, well looked after. The only slight negative I would say is that its a short taxi ride to the centre of town and the various attractions, but we found the taxis to be very cheap, maybe about 」2/」3 each time so quite affordable! If I go back to Budapest at some point I would def stay here again, its not top end luxury, but its a great hotel offering friendly service and a very good stanard. I would say its like a very good *** or acceptable **** in my opinion."

"I booked the Adina Hotel through a special deal on Lastminute.com and I was certainly not disappointed. I stayed in a Superior Room which is much bigger than the average hotel room in Europe. There was a fully supplied kitchenette, a small sitting area, a small dining area, and a large bathroom. There is also a large pool with jacuzzi, sauna, exercise room, and sunbathing deck. I noticed that even non hotel guests pay to use the Adina spa services, and I can certainly see why--everything was wonderful about this hotel. The man at the front desk was always pleasant and extremely helpful and booked a private tour for us the day we arrived even though he was extremely busy. He also helped us find several fantastic restaurants for dinner every night (highly recommend Firkasz for dinner and Kanaan's goulash soup for lunch). I would absolutely stay at this hotel again, as it was definitely the highlight of my birthday weekend in Budapest."

"It is a good hotel, very nice rooms with smal kitchenette. The pool area is exelent, with a big pool, -large enough to do some serious swimming, a jacousi, a sauna, a steam bath and a gym with new equipment. Is situated in urban area, within walking distance from most interesting sights, -if you are up for a 5 - 10 kilometer walk pr. day. We made breakfast in the room. It is possible to have breakfast in the hotel breakfastroom, but it is frankly overpriced, as it costs about as much, as a 3 course dinner in most local restaurants. We recomend the restaurant that provides the roomservice, it is just a few blocks away from the hotel, and it is very god food, nice atmosfere and a god winelist. The owner will gladley recomend a god hungarian wine to go with the meal. A bit expensive for Budapest, but cheap by our standards; 20.000 HUF for 3 cours dinner for two people, with a bottle of very good red wine, sparkeling water, coffey and two glasses of superiour Tokay dessert wine, including 10% service charge. Allso the street paralelle with the Danube river; Pozsonyi, near the Adina hotel, has several small restaurants that serve good hungarian and international food. Ask the receptionist for help, they will recomend local restaurants and make reservations for you."

"My wife, my 16-year-old son and I stayed 3 nights at the Adina and we were not disappointed. The apartment (standard 2-bedrooms) was more than spacious (what we feel as real luxury!) and very quiet. All hotel staff we contacted was very friendly and helpfully and the price we paid was more than adequate. No problem to go downtown with the metro in a few minutes or by feet in 30 to 40 minutes. In the apartment we found 1 bathroom with 2 separate toilets, a full equipped kitchen with 2 fridges, microwave and dishwasher. 3 TVs completed the furnishing. This all sounds great but a really five-star-feeling nevertheless came out, because the design and quality of the furnishing were poor. Everything was clean and worked but it feels old and often used. For example you have no fun with the shower because the sprayer couldn't fix higher than your breast. If you want to wash your hair you have to get down on your knees or take the sprayer in your hands. There was only a bathtub which was too small for bathing and for showering too. I will not moan: I recommend this hotel (maybe the superior rooms are better!) and I recommend our standard room too - but it's far from the level of a luxury five-star hotel. However it's cheeper and it's worth the money! We would come again!"

"Our family of five (adults and teenagers) spent a week at the Adina in Budapest in a superior apartment and highly recommend it . The rooms were spacious with attractive modern furnishings and interesting artwork. Traveling as a family can get claustrophobic - but the Adina has room to stretch out - plus 3 TV's with cable meant that after a day of extensive sightseeing we could all chill out and enjoy European MTV, movies, CNN, the BBC etc etc. The kitchen is well equipped PLUS one of the bathrooms has a very easy to use washer/drier - so no dirty clothing or hikes to find a launderette. The extensive buffet breakfast included in our rate was a delicious and filing start to the day. The staff were helpful and whilst the apartments are a few minutes from the centre and not in the most elegant area - Andrassy or Vaci Ut are less than 10 mins on the metro .... Although we were in Budapest in winter - the generous sized pool (17m) was well used and had a nice aspect onto a central, large and green garden. Supermarkets are close and the Danube, Parliament and Margaret island a short stroll."

"My Partner and I have just returned from a pleasent stay at the 'Adina Apartment Hotel'. The hotel was slightly out of the city center, although only a five minute metro ride away.Buses and Trams were also only a 2min walk. There's a massive shopping mall only 5 mins walk away too. The rooms were extremely tidy and spacious and the staff were also very heplful. Having booked this hotel at the last moment i was a bit weary about what it would be like. But i need'nt have worried because the the hotel was great value for money and very comfortable."

"What a great find! The apartment was really spacious with separate toilet, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom & living room. I would be happy to live here! Very clean with everything you would need (toaster etc). Staff were very friendly and helped with a couple of enquiries. Not too far by Metro into centre of Pest (took 6 mins approx). Highly recommended."

"The Adina offers great value for money. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which gave us so much more space than a hotel room. Full kitchen (even had a washer-dryer) and a good sized bathroom with fantastic shower! The staff were extremely helpful and efficient - and the pool and fitness suite were a real bonus! Good location - on a quiet side street but only a short walk to the metro which easily gets you round Budapest! Plenty restaurants and shops within a pleasant walking distance! Would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to others!"

"This is an excellent hotel and really good value, I would highly reccommend it. Everything is spotlessly clean and very modern. We booked a double 'apartment' - a large double room with a kitchenette in a wardrobe, don't be put off, its better than it sounds. The pool/jacuzzi/sauna/steam room/gym was great, whoever paid for the design and build of this hotel clearly ticked all the 'very posh' boxes when they were with the architect. The staff were also great - relaxed and professional; and the location is fine, about 15 minute walk into the very centre, 2 mins to the tube, the neighbourhood was very clean and quiet. We went for a 2 night getaway and booked last minute, so I can't believe our luck at getting such a nice hotel....If I go back to Budapest I will definetely stay here again."
